KSEA is pleased to announce the Scientists and Engineers Early-Career Development (SEED) Workshop, which has had great success since it started in 2013.

The goal of the SEED is to provide a professional career development service, which is consistent, systematic, and practically useful for junior Korean-American scientists and engineers ranging from postdoctoral researchers to early career professionals. For current graduate students, it is eligible only for those whose defense is scheduled before December 31, 2016.

The program will provide: (1) a workshop on grant proposal writing for postdoctoral researchers and junior faculty members, (2) information on funding opportunities within US, US-Korea collaboration, and other international opportunities, (3) a career workshop that focuses on the job application process, tenure, and promotion, (4) a workshop on being team member/leader in the modern work place, and (5) the development of supporting and mentoring systems.

Speakers will be outstanding and distinguished scholars and professionals with successful careers in the United States.

Attendees are required to have current KSEA membership and participate in the entire two-day workshop period. KSEA will provide the following financial supports to the attendees:

(1) Travel support:

Airfare up to $220 or travel reimbursement up to $220 based on driving mileage ($0.50/mile)
