Invitation Letter from KASBP Symposium
Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals (KASBP) cordially invites all members and friends to the 2016 KASBP Spring Symposium, sponsored Yuhan Corporation and Hanmi Pharmaceuticals, which will be held in Boston from June 10 to June 11, 2016. For the first time in sixteen-year history of KASBP, this spring symposium is hosted at Boston in an effort to promote and expand KASBP membership in the Greater Boston area and establish a stronger and wider network amongst KASBP members in the Northeast Region. In addition to serving as a networking hub, KASBP strives to identify routes for exporting Korean biotechnological and pharmaceutical products and intellectual properties to the US. To achieve this goal, KASBP is collaborating with Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) to organize the Global Partnering Program and K-Move Job Fair for KORUS Bio-Partnership held at Boston from June 9 to June 10 at the same location as the symposium. For the upcoming event, the symposium organizing committee is delighted to announce the recruitment of outstanding speakers and panelists, including our distinguished keynote speaker, Dr. Kwang-Soo Kim, a world-renowned researcher and professor of psychiatry and neuroscience from Harvard University. Invited speakers will share their experience and expertise regarding cutting-edge science, process from the early discovery research to the clinical trials and biopharmaceuticals with further details in the following four sessions: 1) Cell/Gene therapy; 2) Oncology/Immuno-oncology; 3) Systems pharmacology; and 4) Commercialization/VC/BD. These sessions are carefully coordinated to accelerate attendees’ understanding on topics of biotechnology and pharmaceutical research, industry-academia cooperation, and business development. As another meaningful event, the KASBP-Yuhan and KASBP-Hanmi Fellowship Awards will be presented to young scholars from graduate to post-doctoral levels who exhibit excellences in their research. This symposium will also provide an opportunity for members to establish professional networks, and share information and experience in the pursuit of excellence in drug discovery R&D. The symposium organizing committee is looking forward to meeting all members and friends associated with pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry as well as academia. 2016 KASBP Spring Symposium Organizing Committee
